Meet the Blogger: Q&A

This has not been a good month for doing book reviews for me. I got caught up in my editing and might have forgotten that I am supposed to be reading books too. I did get caught up in a fan fiction that I came across, but I will just have to focus on doing some reading actual books next month.

So to say goodbye to July, I wanted to let you meet the Blogger that is me with a Q&A session. These are some out of the box questions and I love it.

Hey, look. It’s me!

What’s your favourite book?

Do I have to pick one? There are a lot of books that I love, but to pick just one is incredibly difficult. For today, I’m going to pick my favourite book that I have read in 2018. So my favourite book of If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo.

What’s your favourite ice cream flavor?

This is a good one. I love raspberry sorbet. It is my favourite of all time.

What are your 3 favourite movies?

  1. Rent
  2. Pay it Forward – always good for a cry
  3. Titanic

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

There are so many beautiful places that I have been. I’m not sure how I can even pick one. I’ve been to Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and the USA. I’ve lived in Canada my whole life and I have to say that none of those other locations compare to how beautiful my home country is.  I love the openness of Saskatchewan. The mountains in Alberta and British Columbia are stunning. The living skies of my home province, Saskatchewan, are unbelievably breath-taking. So Canada, is the most beautiful place I have ever been.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Completing the first draft of my book. I’ve been writing since I was a kid and thought I would never finish anything. So when I finally got to write ‘The End,’ I was ecstatic.

Who would you like to live like for a day?

I actually have two answers for this. The first is that it would be awesome to live like J.K. Rowling for a day. To have that immense knowledge of Harry Potter would be pretty cool.

The second person I would like to live like for a day is my wife. I would be interesting to see the world through her eyes and actually experience the things that she tells me about.

If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be?

  1. When is your favourite time to cuddle? Maybe if I know I can finally get more cuddles than Ashleigh.
  2. If I leave you out of your kennel for the day, do you promise to be good? Fool hardy question, I know, especially if dogs are anything like kids.
  3. What do you do all day at home while I’m at work? I guess I could answer this with a camera, but seems like a lot of work.

When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to make yourself feel better?

I love to curl up and watch something funny with Ashleigh and my cuddly pets.

Using one word, how would you describe your family?

Awesome!!! I wish I had more words!

What is the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

28 Days Later – I watched this movie when I was a kid and was terrified. I went to bed and wasn’t sure if I wanted the lights on or off. For those who haven’t seen the movie, the infected are attracted to the lights at night. I mean darkness or infected scaling up to my second story bedroom. Not an easy choice.

Who’s your celebrity crush?

Emma Watson. I’m not really sure if that is a surprise, but I seriously think that Emma is pretty incredible.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

This is one of the best questions. I basically want to hit up most of Europe, especially Italy, and of course, New Zealand.

If you could shop for free at one store, which would you choose?

Chapters or McNally Robinson! Really just any bookstore.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I had a long list of things I wanted to be: teacher, firefighter (like my dad), famous soccer player (funny, considering that I didn’t really like soccer) and a writer. There are probably more, but those are the ones that stick out.

What’s your favourite day of the week?

Sunday. It is the day that I most often get to relax and chill. And every other week, I get the Monday off too, so I don’t have to stress over going back to work.

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

I have no idea. I’m terrible at this sort of thing. I can’t imagine anyone pretending to me.

What’s the one food you could never bring yourself to eat?

Olives. I hate them so much. I would be willing to try some foods at least once, but I won’t ever try olives again.

What’s your pet peeve?

My more recent pet peeves all have to do with my job. I work in collections for an insurance company, but I can’t really talk about most of the pet peeves that have resulted from that for privacy reasons. However, one of my biggest pet peeves is actually driving related. I hate when people do not use their signal lights when turning or changing lanes. It drives me crazy.

So there you have it: a Q&A with me. In August, I will do my best to get back to actually doing some book reviews.

Until next time!
