Today’s Discussion Topic: What book could you read over and over again?
This is my favourite topic so far. However, the thought of picking just one book is daunting, so I will probably go over some of my favourite books. There are a lot of them, but there are few books that I cannot read more than once. I just told my wife about my topic for the day and her response: “So everything then?” That just about sums it up.
I will be honest, the Harry Potter series is first on this list. Those books are incredible and I would read them all the time if I didn’t have so many other books that I want to read for the first time or read again.
Following that are the Shadowhunter series by Cassandra Clare. Her newest book Lady Midnight just came out, but I haven’t even had a chance to start it yet with school. However, I have read the Mortal Insturments and Infernal Devices series both several times.
One of my favourite authors is Jodi Picoult and I can read all of her books over again. The book that I love the most from her is Nineteen Minutes. It is about a school shooting and it turns the rhetoric upside down. Jodi Picoult really has a way of showing all the sides of a story and pulling out huge plot twists. Some honourable mentions from her are: The Tenth Circle, Change of Heart, Mercy, House Rules, The Storyteller, Sing You Home and Leaving Time. Basically, if you pick up a Jodi Picoult book you are in luck, but these are some of my favourites. Almost all of her books revolve around a hot button issue: rape, death penalty, gay rights, etc. I recommend her at all times.
Some other honourable mentions of books:
- Dan Brown’s Inferno
- The Vampire Diaries and Golden Lily series
- Kim Baldwin’s and Xenia Alexiou’s Elite Operative series
That’s all I can think of right now, but I’m sure that there are a lot more. Tootles for now, folks!
